Power Brick.jpg

The MXR DC Brick is a power supply unit that will provide eight 9V power and two 18V independent power supply to effects units.

The hire for this is 10 AED per day.

One thing that happens when connecting pre-amps and effects from Guitars to Amplifiers is unwanted noise. Compressors and Overdrives are notorious in for causing unwanted noise.

There are various means of eliminating unwanted noise. These are:

  • The careful placement of the effects order in the FX chain.

  • Independent power supply to each effect.

  • The introduction of noise gates and noise suppressors into the effects chain between the guitar and the amplifier and/or within the effects loop that may be included within the amp.

The following video, which is quite long explains in detail how the causes of the unwanted noise and how to deal with it and how eliminate it.  We therefore direct you to the video titled: "Be Quiet! Noise, Hum, Gates & Suppressors" which was published on YouTube by "That Pedal Show"

We would advise the use of the a Power Supply such as the "MXR dc brick" and the BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor.

If effects are carefully placed and an independent power supply for each effects box/unit provided, sometimes noise gates can be omitted, but not always

The noise suppressor BOSS NS-2 we use by introducing a loop within an FX loop usually in conjunction with noisy pedals such as compressors and overdrives.

The hire for this unit is 10 AED per day.
